WHO Highlights Science and Cooperation for World Health Day 2026

The WHO is using World Health Day 2026 to defend science-led public health policy and deeper international coordination.

For World Health Day 2026, the World Health Organization is calling on governments, institutions, and the public to stand with science and strengthen cooperation in health policy.

The campaign argues that some of the biggest public health gains of recent decades, including reductions in maternal and child deaths and improvements in disease treatment, have come from research, technological progress, and coordination across borders.

WHO is linking that message to global meetings in early April that bring together scientists, collaborating centres, and public health leaders to discuss future priorities.

The broader goal is to reinforce the idea that effective health systems depend not only on medical care, but also on trust in evidence, long-term collaboration, and public decisions shaped by reliable research.
